User Authentication tab

The User Authentication tab includes the port tree and User Information (Host) table.

Port tree

This tree displays information about user authentication on each port. When you select a port from this

tree, the User Information (Host) table on the right displays user information of hosts registered on the port.

In addition, the User Information (Port) table below the User Information (Host) table displays user

information of the selected port.
The iSCSI folder appears below the Subsystem folder located at the top of the tree. If you double-click the

iSCSI folder, iSCSI ports in the disk array appear as icons. The port name and user authentication status

to the right of each icon:

(Authentication:ON): The port performs host authentication.

(Authentication:OFF): The port does not perform host authentication. This is the default value.

NOTE:

The iSCSI folder is displayed only if the disk array contains an iSCSI channel adapter.

The following icons are used to indicate the port’s user authentication status.

User Information (Host) table

The User Information (Host) table, on the top right of the User Authentication tab, displays user information

of hosts that are allowed to connect to the iSCSI port specified in the tree. You can register up to 64 user

information items in this table.
The table contains the following columns:

iSCSI Name: Displays iSCSI names of host bus adapters.

Protocol: Indicates the user authentication protocol. This is always CHAP.

User: Indicates user names of hosts. When no user name is defined, this column is blank.

Authentication: Indicates whether to perform authentication for the host. If the host is a target of user

authentication, Enable appears. If the host is not a target of user authentication, Disable appears.

User Information (Port) table

The User Information (Port) table, on the bottom right of the User Authentication tab, displays user

information of the port selected in the tree.
The table contains the following columns:

iSCSI Name: Displays the iSCSI name of the port.

User: Indicates the user name of the port. When the user name is not defined for a port, this column is

left blank. If you use upgraded LUN Manager and the port performed host authentication before

upgrading, Administrator appears as the default.
