Calibrating the scanner

If images are showing defects, the scanner may need to be
calibrated. First verify the problem is not printer related. If the problem
is not printer related, clean the scanner. See “Cleaning the scanner.”
If image defects persist, then calibrate the scanner. To access the
calibration utility, see “Accessing the Calibration utility.

Create a page that measures 219 mm by at least 153 mm (8.6 in.
by at least 6 in.). Use bright, white paper.

Insert the page into the paper input tray, wide side first, and begin
the calibration.

Accessing the Calibration utility

WIndows 9x & NT 4.0

From the Document Assistant, click Tools, and then Calibration.

Windows 3.1x

From the Program Manager, double-click the HP LaserJet 1100
icon, and then double-click Calibrate Scanner.
