Using Compatible XRC in conjunction with Compatible FlashCopy SE

Using Compatible XRC in conjunction with Thin Provisioning Z or Smart
Tiers Z
You can use Thin Provisioning Z or Smart Tiers Z for the Compatible XRC P-VOL and S-VOL.
Using Compatible XRC in conjunction with Hyper Parallel Access Volumes
Pay attention to conjunction with Hyper Parallel Access Volumes if you use XRC Multiple Reader
function, except for using XRC Single Reader function.
You may be unable to use the XRC Multiple Reader function because of abnormally terminated of
the I/O in XRC Multiple Reader when the base volume for the alias is used in the following functions
on Parallel Access Volumes in Remote Web Console.

The Mapping Volume (P-VOL for FICON DM pair) in FICON® Data Migration.
•
The System Volume.
Make sure the base volume on the Parallel Access Volumes in Remote Web Console whether the
volume is used to above functions and do not distribute the alias in the volume if it is in use.
The next configuration is recommended for quicker reading the side files when you use XRC Multiple
Reader with Hyper Parallel Access Volumes.
Set to all base volumes for alias from the base volume for assigned to the same processor blade
for an LDEV on Parallel Access Volumes in Remote Web Console. In addition, the LDEV is used as
a utility volume for primary session.
