III. CALIBRATION

For best results, calibrate the unit in an open and well-ventilated area.

Plug probe into the PROBE INPUT SOCKET.

Make sure the PROBE LOCK is in the lock position.

Turn on the instrument by pressing the POWER button.

Press the B & LEFT (O

2

, mg/L) button and select the O

2

mode. The

mode indicator "% O

2

" is displayed.

Press the C & DOWN (ZERO) button once and "0" is displayed at first,
followed by the measurement. The unit takes up to 5 minutes to
achieve a stable reading.

Press the D (CAL) button and 20.9 or 20.8% appears on the LCD. The
calibration is complete. NOTE: Oxygen in air is typically 20.9%.

IV. MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES: Prior to measurement, it is impor-

tant to perform the above CALIBRATION procedures to ensure accurate
readings. See the probe's KEY FUNCTION CHART for A/B/C/D button
descriptions.

Dissolved Oxygen: Press the B (O

mode. The measured results and mode indicator "mg/L" are displayed.

Oxygen in Air: Press the B (O

, mg/L) button and select the O

2

mode.

The measured results and mode indicator "% O

2

" are displayed.

Press the A (°C/°F) button to select Centigrade or Fahrenheit. The
temperature is shown on the lower display.

Refer to the Water Quality Meter 850081 Instruction Manual for instructions
about Hold, Max./Min, RS232, Auto Shut Off, and other functions.

V. MAINTENANCE

If calibration fails or the measurement is unstable, check the probe's
electrolyte and the condition of the diaphragm. As needed, replace the
electrolyte and the Probe Head (13).

Unscrew the Probe Head (13) and empty the electrolyte.

Fill the new Probe Head (13) with electrolyte and attach it to the probe.
