SECTION 1. OVERVIEW
The Installation of the Excella consists of the hardware installation and the software installation.
The hardware installation requirements are contained in Excella, MICR Check Reader and Dual-
Sided Scanner, Installation and Operation Manual, part number 99875310. The software
installation requirements of the Excella Windows API Specifications are defined below.
The sections of this manual are as follows:
Section 1.

Section 2. Architecture and Operation – includes flow diagrams, screen captures, and several
“How To” descriptions.
Section 3. Functions – describes Excella API functions and return codes.
Section 4. Key-Value Pair Specifications – describes the options for the scan process, sent by
the application to Excella.
Section 5. Examples of Key-Value Pairs
Appendix A. Demo Installation – describes the installation and operation of the Excella Demo
Program.
Appendix B. Format List – built-in list of MICR data formats from which the user may select
one to become the active Format every time a check is read.
Appendix C. Error codes and messages from Excella API MTMCRapi.dll.
