ASCII “0” = No Card is in the Reader
ASCII “1” = Card present in the Reader
ASCII”0” = Drivers 1 and 2 OFF

Set SWB #3 ON
ASCII “E” represents error. If both tracks fail
on a dual track reader, an “EE” will be transmitted.
If one of two tracks fails on a dual track reader, it
will be replaced with an “E”. On a dual track reader,
the higher density track will be transmitted first.
If a card is inserted so the oxide is not in contact with the head,
the unit outputs a single “E” no matter whether it is a single or
dual track unit.
