Starting the recording mode
Selecting modes
You can select the shooting modes by using the mode dial on the upper 
right side of your camera.
Ê How to use the mode dial
Select the shooting mode by turning the mode dial to the selection 
point.

Smart Auto
In Smart Auto mode, the camera 
automatically chooses camera settings 
based on the type of scene it detects.
Program
The camcorder sets the aperture 
and shutter speed.
Aperture. Shutter 
Priority
Lets you set the aperture values or 
shutter speed manually.
Manual
Lets you set various shooting options, 
including the shutter speed and the 
aperture values, manually.
User
Lets you preset frequently used 
shooting options.
Night
Sets the camcorder for recording at 
night or in poor lighting conditions.
Beauty Shot
Lets you clear or retouch the facial 
imperfections of a subject.
Scene
Lets you select a scene mode with 
settings optimized for a given scene.
