Section 6: Messaging
This section describes how to send or receive different types of messages. It also explains the features and
functionality associated with messaging.
Types of Messages
Your phone provides the following message types:
• Text Message
• Picture Message
• Email message
• Audio postcard
• Instant Message
• Voicemail
Display Icons for Messages
When your handset receives new messages, icons display on the screen in two locations: on the View Tab that
displays on the lower portion of the screen, and on the top of the screen (see “Display Layout” on page 17.)
Message Icons on the Icon Line
The icon is displayed at the top of the screen when a new text message is received. The icon is displayed
when a new Picture message or Audio postcard is received. The , icon is displayed when a new Email
message is received. The icon is displayed when a new Voicemail message is received.
Missed Messages Tab
The Missed Messages Tab is an area that displays on the screen when a missed call, picture message, or voicemail
is sent to the phone.
