Text Entry Modes

You can compose text messages made up of alphabetical
characters, symbols, and numbers. Each method of
character entry (symbol, number, etc.) is called a text entry
mode. There are four such entry modes as indicated

ABC: Alphabetical text entry mode. Options are:

• ABC - All uppercase

• Abc - Initial caps

• abc - All lower case

Symbol: Symbol entry mode. Enter symbols into your message

by pressing the corresponding number that appears above it in
the display.

123: Number entry. Enter numbers by pressing the

corresponding key on the keypad.

T9 Word: Predictive text mode. Press each key only once to

enter the letter of the word that your’re spelling.

Your current mode of text entry (ABC, SYMBOL, 123, or
T9 Word

) is indicated in the lower part of the display

when composing a text message.

Entering Upper and Lower Case Letters

1. Enter characters while in ABC mode by pressing the key

with the desired characters (such as for

“h”).

2. Press the key repeatedly until the desired character

appears in the display.

3. Pause briefly and the displayed character is accepted

and inserted into your message.

4. Press

to enter a space.
