LIMITED WARRANTY

Pertronix, Inc. Warrants to the original Purchaser of its solid-state ignition system

(product) that the Ignitor, magnet assembly and wiring (components) shall be free from
defects in material and workmanship for a period of (30) months from the date of purchase.

If within the period of the foregoing warranty Pertronix finds, after inspection, that

the product or any component thereof is defective, Pertronix will, at its option, repair such
products or component or replace them with identical or similar parts PROVIDED that within
such period Purchaser:

Promptly Notifies Pertonix, in writing, of such defects.

Delivers the defective products product or component to Pertronix (ATTN: Warranty)

with proof of purchase date; and
Has installed and used the product in a normal and Proper manner, consistent with

Pertronix printed instructions.


THE FORGOING LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL

OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING AND IMPLIED
WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PURPOSE.
THE FURNISHING OF A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COMPONENTS SHALL
CONSTITUTE THE SOLE REMEDY OF PURCHASER AND THE SOLE LIABILITY OF
PerTronix WHETHER ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT OR FOR NEGLIGENCE, AND IN NO

EVENT WILL PerTronix BE LIABLE FOR MONEY DAMAGES WHETHER DIRECT OR
CONSEQUENTIAL.

12-VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND INSTRUCTIONS

The Ignitor II ignition can be used in conjunction with most ignition coils rated at 0.45 ohms or

All external resistors must be removed to achieve optimum performance from the Ignitor II ignition

The Ignitor II is compatible as a trigger for most electronic boxes.

IGNITOR INSTALLATION

WARNING!!! DO NOT USE WITH SOLID CORE SPARK PLUG WIRES.

Remove distributor cap. Do not disconnect spark plug wires from cap. Examine cap and

rotor for wear or damage. Replace as needed.
Remove point wire from the negative (-) side of the coil.

Remove distributor from engine.

4.

Remove rotor, dust cover, gasket, points, condenser, and wire harness. Examine rotor,

plug wires, etc for wear or damage. Replace as needed. You may want to keep the points,
condenser, and hardware. They can be used as backup.
Machine flange on the distributor shaft down to 0.624” (+ 0.000/- 0.003)

Install Ignitor plate with the screws provided.

Note: Use one screw to mount ground

wire to the Ignitor plate.
Do not remove green tape from magnet sleeve.

Mount sleeve over distributor shaft, onto point cam. Rotate the sleeve until a slight

locating position is felt before applying pressure. Press down firmly insuring sleeve is fully
seated.
Slide provided spacer ring over the shaft.

10.

Using the (.030”) plastic feeler gauge supplied, adjust the air gap between the module

and the magnet sleeve.

Note: The Ignitor air gap can be adjusted anywhere between

.010” and 0.60” without affecting the performance of the Ignitor.
The original grommet needs to be re-used. Cut through the side of the grommet to the

point wire. Remove the point wire and slide the Ignitor wires thru the grommet and push
the grommet in place in the distributor housing.
Install gasket, dust cover and rotor.

Install the distributor in the engine.

14.

Install the distributor cap and make sure all plug wires are attached securely.
