Your camera cannot play back images.

The folder/file name has been changed on your computer (page 65).

When an image file has been processed by a computer or when the image file was recorded
using a model other than that of your camera, playback on your camera is not guaranteed.

The camera is in USB mode. Delete the USB connection (page 63).

The date and time are not displayed.

(Screen display switch) button is turned off (page 23).

The image appears rough right after playback starts.

The image may appear rough right after playback starts due to image processing. This is not a
malfunction.

Color unevenness may appear during video playback.

This is not a malfunction. The recorded images are not affected.

Remove the cable for multi-use terminal (DSC-W50/W70) or the A/V cable (DSC-W30/
W40) if the cable is connected (page 78).

The image does not appear on the TV screen.

Check [Video Out] to see if the video output signal of your camera is set to the color system of
your TV (page 55).

Check whether the connection is correct (page 78).

When the cable for multi-use terminal (DSC-W50/W70) or the USB cable (DSC-W30/W40)
is connected to the USB jack, remove the cable.

Your camera cannot delete an image.

Cancel the protection (page 41).

You are using the “Memory Stick Duo” with the write-protect switch, and the switch is set to
the LOCK position. Set the switch to the recording position (page 95).

You have deleted an image by mistake.

Once you have deleted an image, you cannot restore it. We recommend that you protect
images (page 40), or use the “Memory Stick Duo” with the write-protect switch and set the
switch to the LOCK position (page 95) to prevent accidental erasure.
