Safety Information

Refer to the supplied safety manual for detailed safety information.

Computer

If you drop a solid object or any liquid onto your VAIO computer, shut down the

computer, unplug it, and remove the battery pack if it is removable. You may want to

have the computer checked by qualified personnel before operating it again.

Use only specified peripheral equipment and interface cables.

Keep small parts such as “Memory Stick” and “Memory Stick” adaptors out of reach of

children. There is a risk of swallowing them.

The temperature of the surface and the bottom of your VAIO computer, the AC adapter,

and the battery may rise due to the CPU load or an electric current generated while the

battery is being charged. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction. The

amount of heat generation varies depending on external devices or apps in use.

If your VAIO computer or the AC adapter becomes extraordinarily hot, turn off the

computer, unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery pack if it is removable, and then

contact an authorized Sony service/support center.

Power source

Do not place heavy objects on the power cord, or this could cause a fire.

To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by holding the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

Do not use cut or damaged connection cables.

Unplug your VAIO computer from the AC outlet if you are not planning to use the

computer for an extended period of time.

Headphones

Do not use headphones while driving, cycling, or operating any motorized vehicle. It may

create a traffic hazard and is illegal in some areas. It can also be potentially dangerous

to play loud music while walking, especially at pedestrian crossings.

Avoid using headphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise against continuous,

loud and extended play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or

discontinue use.
