Using the Preinstalled Sony Software
You can use additional functions with select preinstalled Sony software.
See “Using the Jog Dial” on page 18 for more information.

When using the Sony software, be sure to activate the window that supports the Jog Dial.
For software that does not support the Jog Dial, see “Software that does not support the
Jog Dial” on page 21.
Software Description
Smart Label Turn the Jog Dial to toggle through the labels. Press the Jog
Dial to switch to the Time Shift mode. Time Shift mode:
Turn the Jog Dial to see labels with dates from the past or
the future. Press shortly to change the time intervals. Press
longer to return to the normal time interval. Refer to Smart
Label Help for more information.
PictureGear Turn the Jog Dial to change the size of the images. Press the
Jog Dial to optimize the size of the images.
Media Bar Turn the Jog Dial to select a track. Press the Jog Dial to play.
Press again to pause.
DVD Player is on: Turn the Jog Dial to select the chapter.
Press the Jog Dial to play or pause.
Smart Capture Smart Capture window: Simple Menu - Select Capture
mode (Still mode or Video Mail mode) Full Menu - Operate

DVgate Still Turn the Jog Dial forward or back to view individual
images while in pause.
DVgate Motion Turn the Jog Dial forward or back to view the video by
single frame while in pause.

Assemble Turn the Jog Dial to scroll the list.
DVgate Clip Turn the Jog Dial forward or back to rewind the video by
single frame while in pause.
DVgate Scan Turn the Jog Dial to scroll the list.
Smart Write Turn the Jog Dial to move the cursor vertically. Press the
Jog Dial to move to the top of the document. Press again to
move to the bottom of the document.
