iMac (17-inch Mid 2006/Late 2006 CD ) Take Apart — Hard Drive 
Note: If you are replacing a bad hard drive, remove the mounting bracket and the mounting
pins shown in the following steps before returning the bad drive to Apple.
Using a T10 torx screwdriver, remove two screws and the mounting bracket from the drive.
Using a T8 torx screwdriver, remove two mounting pins from the other side of the drive.
