[Playback settings]

Change the number of frames per second (frame rate) as desired.
Normally, use the default setting of [Play with optimum speed].

The frame rate can be checked in the [Properties] window.
If playback fails, it may be improved by selecting [Specify number
of frames] to use a lower frame rate than the current setting.
Selecting a higher frame rate than the current setting may cause
dropped frames, and playback may not be smooth.

2

[Seamless setting during SD, DVD or BD recording]

Specify processing between scenes for uninterrupted playback when
you collect multiple scenes for recording in BDMV format or AVCHD
format.
Regardless of the settings made here, the [Simply Create BD/DVD/
SD Card (AVCHD)] ([Save as BD/AVCHD]) operation will follow the
setting [Makes seamless if the recording modes are the same].

[Makes seamless if the recording modes are the same]

Processing for seamless playback between scenes longer than
three seconds that are recorded in the same mode (with the same
resolution, frame rate, and number of audio channels).

There will be gaps in playback between scenes of different
recording modes or scenes of three seconds or less.

[Makes seamless even if the recording modes are different]

Processing for seamless playback even between scenes recorded
in different modes and shorter than three seconds. However,
conversion will take some time, and the image quality will be inferior.
With this option, we recommend using an Intel

®

Core™ 2 Quad

2.6 GHz or higher processor. (As a guideline, it takes about 50
minutes to record 10 minutes of content with Intel

®

Core™ 2 Quad

2.6 GHz.)

The resolution, frame rate, and number of audio channels can be
checked in the [Properties] window.

[Auto protection settings for writing to DVD-RAM/RW]

[Auto Protect ON]

Disable protection temporarily when recording in AVCHD format
to DVD discs protected according to AVCHD specifications, and in
similar situations. When these discs are ejected, they are protected
again. Even unprotected DVD discs (such as discs immediately
after initialisation or formatting) are protected when ejected, after
recording or other operations.

[Auto Protect OFF]

Prevent recording or similar operations on protected DVD discs.

DVD-RAM/RW discs recorded with [Auto Protect ON] selected are
protected and it may not be possible to initialise or format them
with other recording software or similar programs. In this case, you
can format the discs using formatting functions of this software.

Because complete erasure may take a long time, we recommend
simple erasure.
