Typically the noise criterion needs to be within the 30-40 or below range for effective human perception. The
noise contributions to the audio being sent to the far-end participants can be exaggerated by the microphone
placement. The microphones are amplified and thus also amplify the ambient noise sources within the room.
Care should be taken to minimize noise contributions within the room and the relationship with the microphone
positions. Things to avoid are:
 Don’t place microphones in proximity of noise sources (Projector or PC fans)
 Avoid locating microphones near high air flow paths related to HVAC Systems (heating, ventilation and
air conditioning).
