Enable

Description

Starts a Telnet session to the host that you specify.

Syntax

To start a
Telnet session:

telnet {<ip-address> | <host-name>} [<tcp-port>]

Name

Definition

<ip-address>

The IP address of the host to which you want to start
a Telnet session.

<hostname>

The DNS host name of the host to which you want to
start a Telnet session.

[<tcp-port>]

The TCP port number for Telnet requests.

You need to enter this parameter only if the TCP port
for Telnet is set to a port number other than 23.
