Using optical zoom

Use optical zoom to enlarge your subject by up to 3X. You can change the
optical zoom during video recording.

1 Use the camera screen to frame your subject.

2 Press the Zoom button T (Telephoto) to zoom

in. Press W (Wide Angle) to zoom out.

3 The zoom indicator appears on the camera

screen. Press the Zoom button T to move the
indicator upward, and the Zoom button W to
move it downward.

4 Take a picture or video.

Using digital zoom

Use digital zoom in any still mode to get additional magnification beyond
optical zoom. Combined zoom settings are from 3X to 15X.

1 Press the Zoom button T (Telephoto) to the optical zoom limit.

2 Release the button, then press it again.

The camera screen displays the zoomed image and the zoom indicator.

IMPORTANT: You may notice decreased print image quality when using digital

zoom. The blue slider on the zoom indicator pauses and turns red
when the picture quality reaches the limit for an acceptable 4 x 6 in.
(10 x 15 cm) print.

3 Take a picture normally.

NOTE: You cannot use digital zoom during video recording.
