Camera problems

If...

Try one or more of the following

The camera does not
turn on

Remove, then reinsert the battery (

page 2

).

Recharge the battery (

page 3

).

Place the camera on an optional printer dock or an
optional Photo Frame Dock, then try again.

Connect the camera to an AC adapter, then try again.

If the slot cover is open, you cannot turn the camera on.

The camera does not
turn off and the lens
does not retract

Camera buttons do
not function

The camera screen
does not turn on

Turn the camera off, then on again.

In Review, a blue or
black screen is
displayed instead of a
picture

Transfer the picture or all pictures to the computer (

page 51

).

Format the internal memory or card after transfer.

The pictures
remaining number
does not decrease
after taking a picture

Continue taking pictures. The camera is operating normally.
(The remaining number of pictures that can be taken varies
according to picture quality and content.)

You cannot take a
picture or video

Turn the camera off, then on again.

Press the Shutter button all the way.

Battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery or insert a new
one (

page 2

).

Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
take another picture.

Transfer pictures to the computer (

page 51

), delete

pictures from the camera (

page 34

), switch image storage

locations (

page 25

), or insert a card with available

memory (

page 8

).
