Policy settings

Description

Sleep button

Specifies the action that the Windows operating system
takes when pressing the Sleep button.

Possible actions include:

• Do nothing

• Sleep

• Hibernate

Depending on your computer model, one of the following
hot keys works as the Sleep button.

• Fn+F4

• Fn+F1

• Fn+4

Power button

Specifies the action that the Windows operating system
takes when a user presses the power button.

Possible actions include:

• Do nothing

• Sleep

• Hibernate

• Shut down

Lid closed

Specifies the action that the Windows operating system
takes when a user closes the lid on a notebook computer.

Possible actions include:

• Do nothing

• Sleep

• Hibernate

• Shut down

Start menu power button

Specifies the action that the Windows operating system
takes when a user selects the power button from the
Start menu.

Possible actions include:

• Sleep

• Hibernate

• Shut down

This setting is supported only on Windows Vista client
computers.

Enable Low battery alarm

Specifies whether or not the computer enables the low
battery alarm.

This setting is supported only on Windows XP client
computers.
