4. press the release button to pull the drive and bracket out of the drive

bay by pulling on the blue handle.

5. Use the blue handle to remove hard disk drive from drive bay.
6. Slide the new hard disk drive into the drive bay.
7. Pivot in the drive bay in place.
8. Connect the power and signal cables to the hard disk drive. Refer to

“Identifying parts on the system board”.

9. Refer to the “Completing the installation”.

Replacing an optical drive

that was included with your computer or in the Hardware
Maintenance Manual

To replace an optical drive

1. Open the computer cover. Refer to “Opening the computer cover”.
2. Remove the front bezel. Refer to “Removing and replacing the front

bezel”.

3. Disconnect the signal and power cables from the rear of the optical

drive.
