Specifying the reference image quality
To stabilize the image quality of this machine, specify the reference values (targets) of the entire printing sys-
tem in advance.
Tips
-
If the image quality has not been appropriately adjusted only through daily calibration, you may improve
the situation by carrying out the following tasks.
Carry out the adjustment continuously in sequence. If you have interrupted the adjustment, select "2. Gamma
Automatic Adj." to execute automatic gamma adjustment each time before restarting calibration. For exam-
ple, if you have interrupted the adjustment at the end of the "3. Density Balance Adjustment" processing, se-
lect "2. Gamma Automatic Adj." - "4-a. Color Density Control (recommended)" or "4-b. Calibration by image
controller (when [Color Density Control] is not used)" to restart the adjustment.
If sufficient adjustment results are not obtained via daily maintenance, also carry out the adjustment in this
order.

Select [Administrator Setting] - [System Setting] -

Gamma Auto-
matic Adj.
Adjusts the curve of the output density against
the input density.
This affects the brightness and contrast.
On the [MACHINE] screen, select [Adjustment] -
[Execute Adjust Operation] - [Gamma Automatic
Adj.] to execute processing.

Density Balance
Adjustment
Corrects the density balance in the crosswise di-
rection to output the even density.
•
On the [MACHINE] screen, select [Adjust-
ment] - [Density Balance Adjustment] - [Den-
sity Balance Chart Output] to print out a chart.

On the [MACHINE] screen, select [Adjust-
ment] - [Density Balance Adjustment] - [Den-
sity Balance Data Reg/Del] to register the
adjusted values.

Control (recom-

Basic Setting
Configure a setting so that
this machine executes cali-
bration automatically at peri-
odic intervals.
Color Density
Manual Control
Executes calibration at any
timing in addition to the peri-
odic adjustment.

Adjusts the sensor sensitivity
to fit the paper. This function
is available when using color-
ed paper or enhancing the
sensor accuracy.
