istrator Passwords because of unauthorized access for any subse-
quent entry of the Administrator Password. The machine is then set
into an access lock state. To cancel the access lock state, turn off,
and then turn on, the main power switch of the machine. When the
main power switch is turned off, then on again, wait at least 10 sec-
onds to turn it on after turning it off. If there is no wait period be-
tween turning the main power switch off, then on again, the
machine may not function properly.
Here is the sequence, through which the main power switch and
sub power switch are turned on and off:
Turn off the sub power switch
→ Turn off the main power switch →
Turn on the main power switch
→ Turn on the sub power switch

From “Backup media,” select the check box of the desired medium
and click [Next].

Click [Browse] and specify the destination, in which the backup data is
to be saved.

Type a backup file name that consists of one to 50 characters in the
“Backup file name” text box and click [Next].

To set a password for the backup data, select the “Set a password
for the backup” check box and perform step 8 that follows.

Type a password that consists of one to 64 digits in the “Backup pass-
word” and “Confirm the password” boxes and then click [Next].

Check the data that has been set and click [Start].

Make sure that the backup procedure has been completed. Then, click
[Finish].

Reminder
In Backup, neither the Administrator Password, CE Password, HDD Lock
Password nor Encryption Key is backed up. All other types of security-
related data are backed up and therefore care should be used when ex-
ecuting Restore. The security-related data should be managed properly
so as not to forget the settings when Backup is executed.
Note that Enhanced Security is turned OFF if backup data, security of
which is not enhanced, is restored with Enhanced Security turned ON.
