USB Connection

Make sure your operating system supports USB and that USB
drivers are already installed (Start>Settings>Control Panel>
System, Device Manager tab). These drivers are provided on your Windows
CD-ROM, not on the magicolor 2300 DL Utilities & Documentation CD-ROM.

Turn on the PC and the printer.

When the printer’s message window displays

IDLE/MAGICOLOR 2300DL

, insert the

Utilities and Documentation CD-ROM in your
PC’s CD-ROM drive.
The CD-ROM AutoInstaller automatically
starts.

Close the CD-ROM AutoInstaller.

Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC’s
USB port and the other end into the printer’s
USB port.
The operating system displays New Hardware Found, and lists USB
Device

.

The Add New Hardware Wizard listing MINOLTA-QMS Printing
Support

appears.

Choose Next.

Make sure that Search for the Best Device, Recommended is
selected, and then choose Next.

Choose Specify A Location:

Choose Browse.

On the Utilities & Documentation CD-ROM, browse to
\Drivers\Language, and choose Next. For example, Drivers\English.

Choose Next, and then choose Finish.

When you’re prompted Please insert disk labeled xxx, choose
OK, browse back to the directory selected in step 7, and then choose OK.

Some Windows operating systems may require you to repeat
step 9 as Plug and Play driver files are installed.

Choose Finish.
The Plug and Play installation is completed.

When you have finished, remove the CD-ROM and store it in a safe place.

Customize the printer driver settings for your printer’s configuration. Refer
to the printer driver’s online help.
