nel forno a microonde non si devono usare
utensili di metallo o con parti metalliche,
a meno che non siano specificamente
raccomandati per l'uso in forno a microonde.
i recipienti con aperture ristrette, come le
bottiglie, non devono essere usati per la
cottura a microonde.
Fare attenzione quando si toglie un
coperchio da un recipiente per evitare di
scottarsi con il vapore che fuoriesce.
Contenitori di alluminio
i contenitori di alluminio poco profondi
possono essere usati per riscaldare alimenti
nel forno a microonde purché si osservino le
regole seguenti:
1. i contenitori di alluminio non devono
essere più profondi di 3 cm.
2. non si devono usare coperchi di
alluminio.
3. i contenitori di alluminio devono essere
pieni di cibo almeno per due terzi. non
usare mai contenitori vuoti
4. i contenitori di alluminio devono
essere usati singolarmente nel forno a
microonde e non devono toccare i lati.
Se il forno è dotato di un piatto girevole
di metallo o di una griglia di cottura, il
contenitore di alluminio deve essere
collocato su un piatto da forno capovolto.
5. i contenitori di alluminio non devono mai
essere riutilizzati nel forno a microonde.
Se il forno a microonde è stato in funzione
per 15 o più minuti, farlo raffreddare prima di
riutilizzarlo.
il contenitore e il piatto girevole possono
diventare caldi durante l'uso, fare attenzione
nel toglierli dal forno. Si consiglia di usare
una presina o un guanto da forno.
Quando si usa un contenitore di alluminio,
tenere presente che i tempi di riscaldamento
o cottura possono essere più lunghi di quelli
abituali; controllare che il cibo sia ben caldo
prima di servirlo.
Sicurezza degli alimenti
non riscaldare nel forno a microonde
alimenti in lattine. Collocare sempre gli
alimenti in un recipiente adatto.
nel forno a microonde non si devono
friggere grassi perché la temperatura del
grasso non può essere controllata e si
possono creare situazioni di pericolo.
i popcorn possono essere preparati nel forno
a microonde, ma solo in appositi contenitori
o confezioni speciali. tenere sempre sotto
controllo il forno quando si effettua questo
tipo di cottura.
Si consiglia di forare gli alimenti con pelli
o membrane non porose per impedire
la formazione di vapore e conseguenti
scottature. alcuni degli alimenti che
dovrebbero essere forati sono per esempio
le mele, le patate, i fegatini di pollo e i tuorli
d'uovo.
agitare o scuotere il contenuto dei biberon
e dei vasetti di alimenti per bambini e
controllarne la temperatura prima del
consumo per evitare scottature.

Quando si riscaldano nel forno a
microonde liquidi, quali minestre,
salse e bevande, questi si possono
surriscaldare oltre il punto di
ebollizione senza che ciò si possa
notare dalla formazione di bolle.
Questo potrebbe provocare un
improvviso traboccamento del
liquido bollente. Per impedirlo,
adottare le precauzioni seguenti:
Evitare di usare contenitori con i lati
diritti e colli stretti.
non surriscaldare il liquido.
Agitare il liquido prima di versarlo
nel contenitore nel forno ed agitarlo
di nuovo a metà del tempo di
riscaldamento.
dopo il riscaldamento, lasciarlo nel
forno per breve tempo ed agitarlo di
nuovo prima di togliere con cautela il
contenitore.
