[Home] menu display

When the power is turned on, the [Home] menu is displayed.

The [Home] menu provides links to various functions.

For more details about these functions, refer to their

respective page numbers below.

To move to the [Home] menu from another screen, press

and hold the STOP button for more than 2 seconds.

Identification of parts

Function

A

Recorder

Records files to one of five voice recording folders (Folder A through

Folder E) (☞ P.40). Recorded files can be tagged with keywords so

that the files can be managed in a database (☞ P.76).

B

Music

Manages music files imported from music software such as

Windows Media Player and iTunes. This recorder can be used as a

music player (☞ P.148, P.160).

C

Podcast

Manages podcasts transferred to this recorder using the supplied

“Olympus Sonority” software (☞ P.137).

D

Audiobooks

Manages DAISY books (☞ P.142) (For DM-4) and Audio Books

(☞ P.167) transferred to this recorder using the supplied “Olympus

Sonority” software. Also manages text files (☞ P.168) (For DM-4)

directly transferred to this recorder.

E

Picture

You can import images by connecting a digital camera to this

recorder (☞ P.112) (For DM-4).

F

Audio Diary

Registers and manages schedules (☞ P.99).

G

Preferences

Sets various functions of the recorder.

When the recorder is displayed the [Home] menu display, Fn buttons (F1, F2, F3) works as

follows.

[F1] button

Displays the date and time, informs even in the voice guide.

[F2] button

Informs the battery remaining in the voice guide.

[F3] button

Returns to the playback screen during file playback.
