(14)“DVD Player is overheating. Discon-
tinue until temperature drops.”
When:
The DVD-ROM drive has overheated.
What to do:
Cut the power off, and wait for a while before
turning the power on again.
(15)“DISC DATA READING”
When:
With the map disc inside the Navigation unit, the
NAVI source screen has been displayed by press-
ing the display’s NAVI/AV button.
What to do:
Select any other source besides “NAVI SOURCE”,
or press the display’s NAVI/AV button to switch
to the Navigation map.
If a message about the PC card is dis-
played
• If there is no more space on the PC card or 300
items of data are already stored in one group,
either delete unnecessary data or create a new
group.
• If the data read from the PC card combined
with the data registered in the Address Book
exceeds 300 items, either delete unnecessary
data or reduce the amount of data read from
the PC card.
• If there is no more space on the PC card when
the “Driving Log History” is on, use your own
PC to delete unnecessary data.
Route Setting Information
Route search specifications
Your Navigation System sets a route to your desti-
nation by applying certain built-in rules to the
map data. This section provides some useful
information about how a route is set.
Caution
When a route is calculated, the route and
voice guidance for the route is automatically
set. Also, for day or time traffic regulations,
only information about traffic regulations at
the time when the route was calculated is
shown. For example, if a street is open dur-
ing the morning only, but you arrive later, it
would be against the traffic regulations so
you cannot drive along the set route. When
driving, please follow the actual traffic signs.
Also, the system may not know some traffic
regulations.
About the route condition
When the calculation of only one route is set, you
can search a route option by combining the fol-
lowing conditions.

For example, when “Shortest” and “Avoid
Motorway” (“On”) are combined, the route,
which avoids motorway, and has the shortest
travel time, will be calculated and displayed on
the screen.
Condition 1 :whether to put priority on the
distance, or time
Shortest :
Calculate a route with the shortest distance to
your destination as a priority.
Fastest :
Calculate a route with the shortest travel time to
your destination as a priority.
