Chapter 2

The Grand Tour

This chapter identifies the various components of your computer.

Become familiar with each component before you operate the computer.

Front with the display closed

The following figure shows the computer front with its display panel in the

closed position.

Certain types of notebook chassis are designed to accommodate all

possible configurations for an entire product series. Your selected model

may not have all the features and specifications corresponding to all of the

icons or switches shown on the notebook chassis, unless you have

selected all those features.

1. DC IN LED
2. Power LED
3. Battery LED

DC IN LED

The DC IN LED indicates the computer is

connected to the AC adapter and it is plugged

into an AC power source.

Power LED

The Power LED flashes amber while the system

is in Standby mode. The LED turns off when the

computer is turned off or in hibernation mode. In

normal operating mode, the LED is green.

Battery LED

The Battery LED indicates the battery's current

charge/discharge status. It lights green when the

battery is fully charged. It lights amber while the

battery is being charged from the AC adapter. It

flashes amber when the battery capacity is low.
