Installing a PC card

The PC Card slot is located on the left side of the computer. The

computer's hot-install feature lets you install PC Cards while the computer's

power is on.

To install a PC Card, follow the steps below.
1. Insert the PC Card.
2. Press gently to ensure a firm connection.

Installing a PC card

After installing the card, refer to the card's documentation and check the

configuration in Windows

®

to make sure it is appropriate for your card.

Removing a PC card

1. Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar.
2. Click the PC Card you want to remove.
3. Press the eject button of the PC Card to extend it.
4. Press the extended eject button to pop the card out slightly.
5. Grasp the PC Card and remove it.

A hard disk drive or optical media drive connected to a 16-bit PC Card

might affect the performance of the computer's sound system and modem

data transmission, including slower transmission speeds and dialing

errors.

Do not install a PC Card while the computer is in Standby Mode or

Hibernation Mode as some cards might not work properly.
