1. Use the lever to completely open the burner.

2. Insert the funnel spout
into the opening of the bur-
ner. Fill the measuring pit-
cher with the desired
amount of ethanol. Holding
the funnel with one hand,
slowly pour the ethanol into
the funnel up to the level
marker in the burner. Take
care not to overfill.

3. Close the bio-ethanol container and put the ethanol,
the measuring pitcher and the funnel aside, keeping a
safety distance of at least 1 m (3.3 ft) around the fire-
place.

6.2 Igniting the flame

WARNINGS! Risk of fires and burns!
• Never ignite the bio-ethanol directly.
• Only ignite the ethanol when the burner is filled up to
the level marker.
• Ignite the ethanol immediately after filling the burner
to prevent the risk of flash ignition from ethanol vapour.

1. Open the burner completely with the lever.

2. Dip the corrugated end of
the prong into the ethanol in
the burner.

3. Keeping a safe distance,
ignite the moistened end of
the prong using a stick
lighter.

5. Adjust the flame height as
desired using the lever on
the lower left hand side of
the fireplace body.

Ignition failure
1. In cool conditions the bio-ethanol may fail to ignite the
first time. It may be necessary to repeat the ignition pro-
cess several times as detailed in paragraph 6.2 until the
flame burns steadily and constantly.
2. If after several attempts the bio-ethanol fails to ignite
due to a very cold environment, the burner should be ca-
refully emptied to avoid the risk of flash ignition of the va-
pour and the odour of bio-ethanol in the room. Dispose
of the fuel in accordance with the instructions in para-
graph 10.1.

6.3 Refill
WARNING! Risk of fires and burns!
Never pour ethanol into a burning flame or into a hot
burner!
1.Preferably wait until the fire is completely out or

extinguish the flame with the flame regulator
(see paragraph 6.4)

2. In the very early and very late stages of burning the

flame may be of a blue colour, making the flame not
well visible.
Always make sure that the flame is really
shut off and the burner has cooled down for at least
15 minutes before touching, filling or refilling the

burner.

3. To refill proceed as described in paragraph 6.1
4. To ignite the flame proceed as described in

paragraph 6.2

6.4 Extinguishing the flame
WARNING! Risk of fires and burns!
• Never extinguish the flame with water!

(Risk of deflagration)

• Never try to blow out the flame! (Risk of a darting flame)

If possible let the fuel burn out completely until the bur-
ner is fully emptied. This avoids the risk of flash ignition
of the vapour and the odour of bio-ethanol in the room.

To extinguish the flame proceed as follows:

1. With a quick movement close the flame regulating
lever located on the lower left hand side of the
fireplace body.

2. Wait until the flame is fully extinguished.

3. Dispose of the remaining fuel in accordance with the
instructions in paragraph 10.1.
