7. Remove the paper from the fusible web. Use a pressing cloth to cover the

embroidery, fuse the embroidered linen square to the stiff stabilizer with
the hole cut. Trim to 7” square.

8. Cut a small hole in the center of the embroidered fabric and clip the corners

of the hole in the stiff stabilizer. Fold back cut edges on to the stiff
stabilizer. Fuse edges by pressing into place on the wrong side.

9. Press remaining two pieces of 7 ¼” x 7 ¼” fusible web to wrong side of the

two pieces of 7 ¼” x 7 ¼” backing fabric to create the frame back. Remove
paper backing from fusible web and press to remaining piece of 7 ¼” x 7 ¼”
stiff stabilizer. Trim to 7” square.

10. Repeat fusing process for frame easel, using 3” x 5” fabric. On the wrong

side of the fabric, make a mark along only one short side, ½” in from each
long edge. Draw a slanted line from the unmarked short side to the marks
on the opposite short side to create a tapered easel shape. The finished
shape should be 3” at one edge, 2” at the opposite edge and 5” long.

Assembly:

1. Set up for sewing with open toe foot (SA147). With Brother

polyester lavender thread (804), sew with stitch 1-10 at 4.5
mm width and .3 mm length. Position one end of the 3 ½”
ribbon on the right side of one easel piece, midway along
the 3” side of fabric. With wrong sides together. Stitch
along the long sides of the easel and then lower edge,
catching one end of the ribbon in the stitching.

2. Stitch along the lower edge of the embroidered front with

the same settings.

3. Position the other end of the ribbon midway along one edge

of the frame back. Sew down end of ribbon as you work the
4.5 mm satin stitch to the lower edge of the back. Position
the easel to line up placement on back and then attach top
of easel with the 4.5 mm satin stitch. (See Photo 3 to see
final frame.)
