Measuring the temperature of older children

For older children and adults the digital flexible-tip thermometer can
also be used to measure temperature in the mouth (oral) or under the
arm (the least reliable method). If the thermometer has been used
rectally without hygienic covers, we do not recommend using it for oral
measurements.

Cleaning

Clean the thermometer after each use. Never sterilise nor boil the
thermometer.
For home use, wipe the thermometer with a soft damp cloth or wash in
water.The thermometer is water resistant.
Do not wash in the dishwasher.

Replacing the battery

The thermometer has a long-life battery which should last for about
2 to 3 years. If the display shows a

, the battery is low. Replace the

battery as follows before using the thermometer:
• Remove the battery cover.
• Use an insulated probe to remove the battery (a toothpick for

example).

• Insert the new battery (LR41) with the positive side (+) facing

upwards.

• Secure the cover back in place.

Warning

Swallowing a button battery can be extremely dangerous.
Dispose of battery in an environmentally friendly way.
Do not dispose of in fire or it may explode.
Never attempt to recharge the battery.
