Tipping Load

ISO 14397-1

What is tipping load?
Load at center of gravity of working equip-
ment, so that the wheel loader just begins
to tip over the front axle.
This is the most unfavorable static-load
position for the wheel loader.
Lifting arms horizontal, wheel loader fully
articulated at center pivot.

Pay load.
The pay load must not exceed 50% of the
tipping load when articulated.
This is equivalent to a static stability-margin
factor of 2.0.

Bucket capacity.
The bucket volume is determined from the
pay load.
