setting water hardness

Remove the Total Hardness Test strip (attached to page 2) from its

wrap. Dip the strip fully into the tap water you use to brew coffee.

Keep the strip in the water for a few seconds. Then remove the strip,

shake off excess water and wait approx. 30 seconds (until it changes

colour and one or more squares turn red).

Press the MENU button.

, The button lights up.

Press the ^ button until the message ‘SET WATER HARDNESS?’

appears on the display.

Press the OK button.

Press the ^ button until the number on the display coincides with

the number of red squares on the test strip.

For example, if 3 squares on the test strip have turned red, you have to set

water hardness 3.

Press the OK button to confirm the set water hardness.

, The coffee maker is now programmed to display the ‘PLEASE

DESCALE!’ message based on the actual hardness of the water you

use.

Press the MENU button.

, The button lights up.

Press the ^ button until the message ‘SET LANGUAGE?’ appears on

the display.

Press the OK button.

Press the ^ or % button until the desired language appears on the

display.

Press the OK button.

, The appliance automatically exits the MENU mode.

resetting to default settings
If you have changed the preset settings, you can reset the appliance to the

default settings as follows:
Note: The appliance resets all menu parameters except the language and the

clock.
