3 Installing the Air Locker

Figure 6. shows that approximately 1.5mm was ground from the

housing corner near the pinion support bearing to provide 2mm of
clearance for the Air Locker

Once the required clearance has been achieved, remove the Air

Locker and the pinion shaft assembly and thoroughly clean the third
member of any grinding dust or other foreign particles.

Reinstall the pinion shaft assembly and using a torque wrench

tighten to the torque specified in your vehicle service manual.

Reinstall the Air Locker into the third member.
Install the bearing caps oriented as they were marked before they

were removed, and finger tighten the bearing cap bolts. It is not
necessary to torque them down at this time.

Insert and lightly hand tighten the appropriate adjuster nut supplied

with the Air Locker kit into the flange side bearing cap.
