Physical structure
• With an installed (optional) MC-PBM communication card, the Controller 3200 C/p500 is the
PROFIBUS master which can communicate with one or several nodes (slaves).
• The optional MC-PBS communication card enables the Controller 3200 C/p500 to be operated
as PROFIBUS as well.
• PROFIBUS either has an internal line topology (without repeater) or a tree topology (with
repeater).
• The PROFIBUS network has to be ended at the first and last node with a bus terminating resistor.
The bus terminating resistor is integrated in the bus connector and activated by a switch.
