10. FOCUS SHIELD REFLECTOR INSTALLATION
After burner and tubes have been installed,
slide the focus shield reflectors one at a time
into the wire hangers. The end of the first and
last focus shield reflectors must be secured to
the first and last end plate hangers with four
screws each. SEE FIGURE 13 (above) and
FIGURE 12 (page 11). As each successive
focus shield reflector is installed on an
in-line installation, the ends of the focus
shield reflectors will meet at the centre of the
focus shield reflector slide to provide
continuous coverage over the entire tube
system.
Reflector slides are provided to support and
attach one focus shield reflector to another.
Slide focus shield reflector (1) over reflector
slide (2), fit focus shield reflector standing
edge (3) into reflector slide lip (4). SEE
FIGURE 15 (page 13). Focus shield reflectors should touch at centre
of reflector slide. SEE FIGURE 14 (page 11).
Reflectors must be free to slide due to
expansion. Do NOT hard fasten.
NOTE: DO NOT SCREW FOCUS
SHIELD REFLECTORS AND SLIDE
TOGETHER.
Each focus shield reflector section can be in-
dividually adjusted to either side, up to 45
O
from horizontal, by orienting the hangers
appropriately. SEE FIGURE 15 (page 13),
FIGURE 16 (page 13). Note that for both
horizontal and angle mounting, the tube must
be level. Improper mounting can result in
overheating of controls and combustible ma-
terials. Use only non-combustible mounting
hardware.

OPTIONAL side reflector extensions sup-
plied by Schwank can be added to the heater.
They should be secured directly to the
focus shield reflector using "S" hooks
or chain. Drill three holes into focus shield
reflector flange along side, which match already in side reflector. Mount side
reflector as close as possible to the focus
shield reflector. Make sure “S” hooks are
closed. See FIGURE 14 (page 13).
NOTE: For angle mounted applications use the reflector stabilizer(s). See FIGURE 9 (page 9) .
