To avoid personal injury or property
damage, de–energize both line and control
power connected to the B ulletin 500LC
L ighting Conta ctor before proceeding.

CA UT ION

1. O pen circuit breakers or other disconnecting means, then use a voltmeter to

verify no voltage is present at both control and line terminal screws.

2. L abel, disconnect, and tape all wires (control, line, load) from the lighting

contactor.

3. L oosen the mounting screws and remove the B ulletin 500LC L ighting

C ontactor from the enclosure.

4. I nsert the plastic operatingscrew (from the kit) into the center of the coil and

carefully turn it clockwise until the threads engage the cam/core. See F igure 2.

5. Pull the operating screw outward to pull the cam/core up.
6. I nsert the lever (from the kit) into the left side of the lighting contactor. E nd

of cylindrical section should fit flush into the lightingcontactor. See Fi gure 1.

7. Push the operator screw inward to push the cam/core down.
8.

A ssemble the connector(s) with leads and auxiliary contact(s) from the kit.

9. Inse rt the mounting screw through the auxiliary contacts(s) (f ar hole). Very

carefully install the assembly onto the guide pin on the left side of the lighting
contactor. T ighten the screw to only 4 in–lb.

Do not overtighten the mounting screw !

R emove manual operating screw after use !

10. U se the operator screw to manually move the cam/core up and down and

check operation of the auxiliary contact(s).

11. R emove the operator screw from the cam/core.
12. R einstall the lighting contactor into the enclosure and tighten mounting screws.
13. R econnect all wires previously removed. T ighten the control, line, and load

connections to 18 in–lbs.

14. C lose circuit breakers or other disconnecting means and check electrical

operation of the lighting contactor.
