6.

Snap the clamp around the exposed shield, and firmly tighten the clamp screw.

7.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each slot occupied by an IAM or AM.

IMPORTANT

Effective contact between the bracket screw and the ground shield
of the cable is necessary for a good ground connection.

Each number corresponds to a
step in these instructions. For
example, step 4 is mounting the
power rail and axis modules.

If you are mounting the bracket
above the power rail, special
precautions apply. Refer to the
Attention on page 2 for
information.

Power cables with shielded signal wires have larger
diameters that may not leave sufficient room for signal wires
to be looped through the ground clamp. Possible solutions to
this situation include:

1. Unbraid the signal wire shield, slip only the shield through

the bracket, and route the signal wire outside the bracket.

2. Install a 1.5 mm (16 AWG) jumper wire from the shield of

each signal wire to the clamp.

The diagram in the close-up depicts a jumper wire with a
crimp connector attaching to the exposed area of the shield
on the signal wire. Soldering the jumper wire to the shield is
also an acceptable connection method, but requires care to
prevent damage to the insulation on the signal wires.
