Communications Interface Termination Assembly - T8153
Issue 7 Apr 2010
DESCRIPTION

The Trusted
TM
Communications Interface Termination Assembly T8153
provides easy connection between the communications ports on the
Trusted
TM
Communication Interface Module in the Controller Chassis and
other (third party) Systems.
The Assembly comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) on which the
communications ports are mounted. The PCB also supports a 78+2 Inverse
DIN41612 M-type connector which enables the Assembly to be plugged into
the Trusted
TM
Communications Interface Module input/output (I/O)
connector at the rear of the Trusted
TM
Controller Chassis. The
communications ports available from the Assembly are RS232 (one each of
full and partial), RS485 (both direct and multidrop) and Ethernet (10BaseT
and 10Base2 on earlier Communications Modules and 10BaseT and
100BaseT on later versions).
There are two connectors available to access the RS232 ports. Bank 1
provides a full RS232 interface. Bank 2 provides a partial RS232 interface
with connections limited to TX, RX, RTS and CTS.
There are four connectors available to directly access the RS485 ports.
Banks 1 and 2 cannot be used in the RS485 mode if the Trusted
TM
Communications Interface is configured for RS232 on these ports. The
connections are provided to enable the system integrator to easily make the
required interface available.
The 10Base2 and 10/100BaseT ports are available via BNC (507) and RJ45
connectors respectively.
Termination
resistors
for
RS422/485 communications are
selectable via links. These are
mounted on the pcb and are the
only configurable items which
require setting up before using
the Assembly.
When the Assembly is plugged
into the I/O connector on the rear
of
the
Trusted
TM
Controller
Chassis,
it
is
mechanically
latched in position. A release
button is provided to enable the
user to unplug the Assembly as
required.
