Transport and storage

It is imperative, for all transport work, to observe
generally accepted engineering practice and the ac-
cident prevention regulations.

Handle the goods being transported with care. During
transport the actuator must be protected against im-
pacts and collisions. Directly after receipt of the
goods, the consignment must be checked for com-
pleteness and any in-transit damage.

Damaged actuators may not be installed.

3.1 Storage

If the valve is not installed immediately after delivery,
it must be put into proper storage.

It should be stored in a dry, vibration-free and well-
ventilated room at as constant a temperature as pos-
sible.
Storage over a longer period may necessitate indi-
vidual moisture-proof packing. This is dependent on
the local conditions.

Installation and Start-up

Before installing/commissioning the actuator, check
the technical parameters, especially the pressure,
torque and temperature values.
The mounting and other work on the actuator must
be carried out without the compressed air supply
Ensure that the actuator moves in the desired rota-
tional direction.
Take care that the maximum actuating angle is set so
that the valve seat sealing surfaces are not over-
driven.

4.1 Mounting the actuator on the

valve

Check the interface of the valve stem to the actuator
shaft and mounting flange of valve to actuator casing
for the eventual use of additional parts (shaft adapter,
reductions, mounting bridges, centering).

Complete fitting connections.

Check the rotational direction and mounting
variation before commissioning

!

4.2 Pneumatic connection of the

actuator

The actuator sizes 046 to 096 need to be
fitted with a NAMUR adapter for connec-
tion to a NAMUR valve.

Single acting actuators are factory fitted with a si-
lencer in the connection. This silencer has to be re-
moved when mounting on a NAMUR control valve.
For single-acting rotary actuators, connect the P1
to the compressed air; for double-acting actuators,
connect the P1 and P2 to the compressed air P2.
