Selecting the Right Size Tube

The Hybrid includes 3 different size tubes: Small, Medium and Large. Place the

Hybrid over your ear, with the medium tube attached. If the tube is too short, the

Hybrid’s back end will be up and the front end will be down. In this case, see Step

4 to change to the large, 3B tube. If the tube is too long, the Hybrid’s back end

will be too low and the front end will be too high. In this case, see Step 4 to

change to the small 1B tube. Right tubes are labeled in red print, left tubes in blue.

Battery Insertion

The Hybrid uses a standard size #13 battery.

• To insert, remove adhesive sticker. Any moisture on the battery surface should be

wiped off prior to insertion. Open the battery door and insert the battery.

• To remove the battery, open the battery door and lift the battery out of the battery door.
Low Battery Indicator: When your battery is low you will hear five beeps indicating

that it is time to change your battery.
Helpful Hint: It is recommended that you leave your battery door open when not

using your instruments. This will prolong the life of your batteries.
Caution: Keep batteries out of reach of children or anyone who may accidentally

swallow them. Never put batteries in your mouth for any reason. Do not store batteries

in medication containers or where they may possible by mistaken for medication and

accidentally swallowed. Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

Changing Tubes

Tube Removal

Grasp the connector firmly.

Rotate the Hybrid 90°.

Pull straight out.

Note: It is important NOT to pull the tubing itself, as it can become stretched and distorted.

Choosing the Right Tip

Attention: In loud environments where hearing protection is necessary, use the foam

plug. An additional foam plug is included for the other ear. For environments that do

not have loud sounds, you can use either the foam tip or the tulip tip.

How To Wear The Hybrid

With Foam Plug: Squeeze and roll the foam plug between your fingers. Insert into ear

canal. The foam plug will gradually expand after insertion. Slide the Hybrid over your

ear. Make sure the foam tip does not loosen. Tuck the retention line in the bowl of your

ear and adjust/bend it until comfortable and secure.
With Tulip Tip: Grasp the Hybrid between your thumb and forefinger. Place it over

your ear as shown. Gently push the tulip into the ear canal. Tuck the retention line into

the bowl of your ear and adjust/bend it until comfortable and secure.

On/Off and Volume Adjustment

On & Off: The Hybrid is turned on and off by either opening/closing the battery

compartment or by turning the volume control past the lowest setting.
Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume level of the Hybrid by rotating the volume

control up for louder volume and down for softer volume. The smaller the number the

lower the volume. When adjusting the volume control, you will hear a single beep

when the volume level is at mid-point.
