NOTES:

enclosed instruction sheet.

2. The ratio is constant and specific for fresh solutions of each Oakite product regardless of the

absolute concentration used.

3. The ratio reduces with use. As the ratio approaches zero it indicates a spent tank.

4. A suggested sample volume for highly concentrated alkaline solutions is 1 ml and for weaker

solutions, up to 10 ml.

5. The ratio of Free to Total Alkali should first be determined on a fresh solution. An appropriate

sample volume should be chosen so as to yield a Titration “A” somewhere between 1 and 2
ml of 1N Acid in Step 3.

6. Once the appropriate sample volume has been chosen, it must remain constant for

subsequent titrations of the Oakite solution after use.
