Install New Lid Clamps
Remove Old Lid Latch
Note: The old lid latch can remain in place or be
removed dependent upon preference.
1. To remove the old lid latch and hook (not pictured)
remove the two screws and single bolt holding it in
place.
2. Replace the bolt and nut in the hole in hopper so
hole opening is not left exposed.
Install New Lid Clamps
Refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3

Select 2 each:
800-418C DESTACO 331 CLAMP ASSEMBLY
and
Select 8 screws and nuts:
802-001C HHCS 1/4-20X3/4 SS
803-088C NUT HEX LOCK 1/4-20 FLG
For proper placement of clamps , measure an
equal distance from each end of lid and

in from
bottom of front lid lip. Check that destaco clamps
are 17 inches apart from each other as in illustra-
tion.
Drill four
9 ⁄

in diameter holes for screws . Install
the destaco clamps to the front lip of the lid with four
screws. Secure on back with nuts
.
4. Select 2 each (either short or long) lid latch hooks:
403-788D (short) 82 BIN LID LATCH HOOK
or
403-789D (long) 150 BIN LID LATCH HOOK
and
Select 2 each bolts and nuts:
802-282C RHSNB 5/16-18X1 GR5
803-177C NUT HEX LOCK 5/16-18 FLG
For correct placement of bolt hole, place latch
around hook
and place on hopper surface ,
make a mark with pen where hole is to be drilled.
I MPORTANT: Make sure the catch of the hook is cen-
tered in a line directly under the latch and that the
bottom round surface
of the hook is contacting the
hopper surface in a radius slightly nearer the hopper
lid (rather than further) for the hook to latch properly.
The latch will not secure properly if the hook
bottom
is bolted on too far from the lid.
Drill hole size
11 ⁄
32
in diameter. Secure with one bolt
and one nut per each hook.
The latch kit includes 2 hook sizes, make sure to choose the
correct size whether you are updating the 82 bu or the 150 bu
see Step 4.
