Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Remedy
Bands or spots not No protein on gel Verify that there is actually
visible protein on the gel by
staining with another
method (e.g. Bio-Safe™
Coomassie stain).
Malfunctioning imaging Check instrument manual
system for troubleshooting.
Poor staining sensitivity Residual SDS in gel Confirm the correct amount

High or uneven Dirty equipment or Make sure that the staining
