Module Descriptions

This chapter provides descriptions and specifications for the Cisco ONS 15200 modules, sometimes

5.1 Overview

The ONS 15200 has thirteen modules, four active and nine passive. The following paragraphs describe
the four active modules in the ONS 15200 system:

5.2 Client Layer Interface Port Module

The CLIP module provides the input port from the client layer to the integrated ONS 15200 system, and
the output port from the integrated ONS 15200 to the client layer. The CLIP module receives an optical
input signal from the client layer in either the 1310 nm or 1550 nm wavelength regions and converts the
