USB port connector

Use the USB port connector to attach a USB device, such as a mouse, to the computer. USB is a peripheral bus standard that enables automatic detection of USB-compliant
peripheral devices.

 

Speakers and headphones (line-out/speaker-out) jack

Connect headphones or speakers to the speaker-out (line-out) jack.

 

Microphone (MIC IN) jack

Connect an external microphone to the MIC IN jack.

 

Fan exhaust vent

The fan works with the air intake as part of the computer's automatic thermal management system. When operating conditions make it necessary, the small internal fan turns
on and helps draw air through the air intake.

NOTICE: To avoid overheating the computer, do not place the external media bay close to the air intake or fan exhaust vent.

Use the 6-hole, miniature DIN PS/2 connector to attach PS/2-compatible devices such as a mouse, keyboard, or external numeric keypad.

NOTE: Windows NT does not support USB functions.

CAUTION: Do not push objects into the fan opening. Doing so can cause fire or electric shock to the interior components. Keep
the opening free from dust and other foreign particles. When you use the computer, do not block the fan opening.

NOTE: If the computer is in save-to-disk suspend mode when you attach a mouse, you can use the mouse when the computer resumes normal

operation.
