Loading Envelopes
To load envelopes that are under 8.66 inches (220 mm) in width in the multipurpose feeder, insert
the envelopes either with the flaps closed and at the right side or the flaps open and at the rear. To
load envelopes that are over 8.66 inches (220 mm) in width in the multipurpose feeder, insert the
envelopes with the flaps closed and the short-edge of the envelopes facing into the printer. The
print side must be facing down. You can load envelopes up to the maximum fill line in the tray at
one time.
NOTICE: Never use envelopes with windows, coated linings, or self-stick adhesives. These lead to
paper jams and damage to the printer.
After loading envelopes, make sure the size and type setting for the multipurpose feeder is set to
the correct value for the print media you have loaded. Select print media source, size, and type in
your software program and select the print media size and type on the printer operator panel.
