1.

Save and close all open files and exit all open application programs.

2.

Prior to detaching the computer from the APR, either suspend the power to the
computer by pressing the safe undock button, or shut down the Microsoft

®

Windows

®

operating system to power off the computer.

3.

Pull both of the release handles on the sides of the advanced port replicator to
undock the computer.

Perform the following steps to detach the computer from a pass-through port
replicator
:

1.

Save and close all open files, exit all open application programs, and shut down
the computer.

2.

Pull both of the release handles on the sides of the port replicator, as shown in
Figure 1-4, to undock the computer.

Using the Network Interface Controller

Connector (Optional)

The port replicator may have a NIC connector, which provides network capability. To
establish a network connection, refer to the Quick Start Guide for instructions on
using the NIC.
