Insert the new device into the bay, push the device until you feel a click, and replace the screw.

 

Windows XP automatically recognizes the new device.

If necessary, enter your password to unlock your computer.

Windows 2000

1.

 

Click the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon on the taskbar.

Click the device you want to eject and click Stop.

3.

 

Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to remove the device screw from the bottom of the computer.

Press the device latch release.

 

 

 

5.

 

Pull the device out of the module bay.

6.

 

Insert the new device into the bay, push the device until you feel a click, and then replace the screw.
